I hope you are all safe and have navigated the last weeks as well as possible. It certainly has been a rollercoaster hasn't it, I know it certainly has felt like that for me. It wasn't the start of the year any of us had planned for. I personally had moved house to a new area on New Years Eve and after two months of unpacking I had been about to push forward with plans for Ilkley London; a new shoot to get our Spring 2020 prints out there, new products to develop after all the learnings from Christmas, fairs to get ready for and a new marketing social media campaign to really start getting us known more.
When the news of lockdown came I put it all on hold. Whilst the time may have been good to get some of these projects researched and planned, with three young children to home school, I knew from previous experience that trying to do both would lead to stress all round. I parked everything and felt fed up.
As the days went by I felt more like a 50's housewife than a progressive feminist but I knew we had to prioritise. Now as we are coming towards the end and with the sun shining I can only count my blessings, be thankful for the time with my family, pick up the pieces and push forward again.
It feels like the cogs in my brain are slowly starting to turn again and my thoughts are returning to the projects I parked. I hope you feel the same and for those of you that have tirelessly worked throughout to keep us going and to care for us, thank you and I sincerely hope your time to rest is coming soon.
